The following list is the candidate for the Texas Bluebonnet Award 2009-2010. In our local elementary school in third grade, students can vote for their favorites if they have read at least five books from the main list.

My daughter is in third grade, that all the books mentioned are great. They also contain a number of fiction and nonfiction writing, including novels, poetry, chapter books and picture books. Some of the stories can be extremely controversial and leadsome strong emotions.

There have been known to laugh or cry when reading some of these books. We also have so outraged and shocked that we wanted to stop and read a book, but we were so impressed, and has invested in the story, we could not stop. I read over my list of books. I hope you look at the list below and decide some more for you or yourChildren. If you do this, please comment below and let me know what you think.
